FLOURISHES: EXPLORING WORLD

EXPLORING WORLD with Monika Schneider

Where are we in terms of location in our scene? What is around us? What time period are we in? Can we use our environment to help guide us in our scene? Can we be inspired by where we are and the objects we find in it? Can we make those objects important to us? 

Over 4 weeks we'll practice creating and discovering our environments using curiosity and intent.  We'll work on acknowledging and interacting with what we know thereby gaining a stronger grasp of where we are and how it affects us! We'll also practice multiple scenes within the same location, treating it like another character in the story!

As improvisers we have so much freedom to create scenes that take place anywhere and this class will help you bring these scenes to life and maintain them until the lights come down!

PREREQUISITES:

At least six months of in-class improv experience, or its equivalent. Stage and show experience is an additional benefit. If you are unsure if this includes you or your experience, please contact us.

SCHEDULE:

Wednesdays 7:00pm - 9:00pm / October 16, 23, 30 and November 6

PLEASE NOTE:

In order to offer the best class experience, we require registrants to be able to attend all these days/times they've registered for. Arrive 5 minutes before class begins in order to not disturb a class in session.

Once you register, you will wait to receive an INVOICE, within 24 hours. Once you receive the invoice you will have 24 hours to make your payment to secure your spot

We cannot accept credit cards or cheques, if you’d like to pay by cash, please let us know and we will arrange an appointment.

Mile End Improv is a safe space. Absolutely no abusive behaviour of any kind will be tolerated.

This is a commitment, and we expect those who register to attend the classes they’ve signed up for. Please be considerate; missing a class will affect the other participants and the delivery of the class material for everyone. There are no refunds or credits for missed classes.

Unfortunately, the studios are located on the second floor of the building.

Being a student at Mile End Improv allows you to attend the Every Thursday Improv Show for free during the weeks you are taking classes (if space allows!)
