The idea of character in improv is simple (in concept), but can be fickle (when applying).  Does it mean playing a Dracula or an old codger on a porch?  Or is it about trying a funny walk with a wacky voice? Let's peel it back and attempt to explore it in its most simple way: what are the characteristics of the people we bring to life on stage and in scenes.

In this 4 week class series, we'll explore theatrical techniques, movement exercises, and work with soundscapes and objects, to help us find new inspiration in our improv scenes. Explore new perspectives and uncover new layers to make your scenes more visually compelling while practicing presence with clarity and confidence.

STORY EVERYWHERE is an attempt to reimagine how we think about and perform narrative improv. The approach is based on the belief that, like the title suggests, story is everywhere. Every moment on stage, every gesture, every interaction, is ripe with story potential.

TUESDAYS / 7PM-9PM / January 14 - February 4th w/Vance Gillis (SOLD OUT!)

In this four-week class, students will prioritize creating tension and excitement on stage, with zero pressure to have to be funny. They'll work on playing characters with empathy, honesty and vulnerability, while also bringing greater awareness to themselves and their scene partners.

THURSDAYS / 6:30PM / 90 MINS

All levels welcome, from beginners to experienced players. Includes free entry to the Every Thursday Improv Show (same day).

SATURDAYS / 4PM WORKSHOP + 7PM SHOW
2.5 hours of improv workshop, plus a spot in the Saturday Spectacular improv show that same evening.
